Alison Waters’ hopes of a fifth women’s National Squash Championship title came to an end at the semi-final stage on Saturday.
The 32-year-old, who lives in Welwyn Garden City, was beaten 3-1 in Manchester by Sarah-Jane Perry.
Perry took on British number one Laura Massaro in the final losing 3-0 as Massaro claimed her fourth national title and the second in succession.
Waters had defeated qualifier Kace Bartley 3-0 in the first round and seen off Tesni Evens 3-2 to reach the semi-finals.
This weekend Waters will be back in action.
She will head to America to compete in the Cleveland Classic 2017 (February 17-20), then the Windy City Open (February 23-28) in Chicago before travelling to Columbia in March (8-11) for the Ciudad De Floridablanca.
