RICHARD Twiggs has been crowned the new champion of Panshanger Golf Club.

Twiggs, John Farrell and Simon Ragless all shot a two round gross score of 150 on Sunday.

After battling the wind and rain, the three competitors went back out and completed a three hole play-off to decide the winner.

Richard eventually triumphed after shooting level par to beat his two rivals.

His victory was particularly pleasing for proud father Jeff Twiggs, who just happens to be the club president.

To round off a great day, champagne flowed in the Fairway Tavern afterwards.

This was courtesy of Dave Carr, who was in celebratory mode after hitting a hole-in-one on the difficult par 3 ninth hole.
