A starring performance from Jo Trip was enough to earn Saracens Mavericks a comfortable 64-46 win away to Severn Stars.

The defender was in imperious form at the University of Worcester as she picked off interceptions and turnovers galore.

It was just the latest in a series of fine displays from the Mavs who remain second in the Netball Superleague.

Speaking to Sky Sports she said: “We’re just working for each other and we’re continuning to gel. We’ve still got a lot to work on, we especially need to learn to push on in those critical moments.

“We’re working a lot on my footwork and it’s starting to pay dividends. I’ve still got to work hard on those intercepts but today was a good day.”

Next up is another away game at Strathcylde Sirens, and that according to Trip is another chance to get even better.

She said: “We’ve got to look back and work on a few things. We only drew the last quarter and that’s not good enough.”
