Tobais and Williams through to Euro U23 100m finals

JODIE Williams and Deji Tobais are through to their respective 100m finals at the European Athletics U23 Champonships in Tampere, Finland.

Welwyn Garden City’s Williams won her Thursday heat in 11.49secs and did likewise in her semi-final later the same day in 11.44secs to book her place in this evening’s (Friday’s) final.

University of Hertfordshire student Tobais was the second fastest through to the evening’s men’s 100m semi-finals after clocking 10.47secs in heat one. His GB team-mate Olympian Adam Gemili was the quickest qualifier in 10.42secs.

In the semi-final Tobais again impressed setting a lifetime best of 10.27secs into a 1.1mps headwind.

His final is also this evening (Friday).
