THERE were personal best rides all round for Team Welwyn members in the Junior National 10 Mile Time Trial Championship at Liphook.

Riding early in the field with heavy drizzle making for fairly inhospitable conditions, Phil Lisher took a minute off his previous best time to finish in 22 minutes 30 seconds.

Team-mate Tom Gosbee also improved by a minute, bringing his career best time down to 23 mins 02 secs.

Youth rider Joe Magnus reduced his previous best by 15 seconds, setting a new standard of 24 mins 45 secs.

There was a sense of déjà vu in the Hitchin Nomads 25 Mile Time Trial held near Tempsford as riders again faced heavy drizzle.

Richard Webster finished fastest of the Team Welwyn trio with 56 mins 59 secs, followed by Simon Layfield in 59 mins 28 secs.

Junior Tom Gosbee managed another PB, taking over a minute off his previous mark to complete the course in 61 mins 04 secs.

However, all were eclipsed by event winner Michael Hutchinson whose 47 mins 53 secs was almost five minutes faster than the second placed rider on the day.
