Hertfordshire tennis player Tara Moore is making her debut in the Fed Cup for GB this week and has revealed her delight at the call-up.

Moore, who lives in Potters Bar, was named in Judy Murray’s team alongside Heather Watson, Laura Robson and Johanna Konta.

However, Robson has been forced to withdraw from the event due to a wrist injury and has been replaced by doubles specialist Jocelyn Rae, who won gold at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the competition, Moore said: “It means so much to me to get a call-up for your country.

“Not many people get to do that and I feel really, really special and honoured.”

The Cup tie takes place from today (Wednesday) until Sunday at the Syma Event and Conference Centre in Budapest, Hungary.

GB will face Latvia this afternoon (Wednesday), then Romania on Friday and finally host nation Hungary on Saturday.
