Having won the re-arranged fixed jack tournament final last week, Sue Cummings became De Havilland Bowls Club’s ladies champion when she defeated Debbie Parsonage.
In the tightest match of the day Andrew Parsonage just missed out on the two he needed to clinch the match and went into the next end with a 20-19 lead.
However, his dad Tony, rallied and won the end and the match 21-20 in the mixed tournament, which this year saw no female finalist.
Andrew was in no mood to accept another defeat and soon ran away with the men’s championship against Mike Scandrett.
Tony Parsonage then went on to defeat Christine Goode in the handicap, before partnering his son and winning the pairs against Debbie Parsonage and Chris Goode, both suffering their second defeat of the day.
Anybody wanting to give bowls a go can go to the club on Saturday at 1.30pm. Just bring flat shoes.
