BRIAN Davis continues to struggle for consistency in his outings on the United States PGA Tour.

Davis follows challenging opening rounds by failing to turn them into victory bids.

In the Canadian Open at Glen Abbey in Ontario, the former Herts county player was in third place at the halfway stage after opening with 69.

He then matched the low score of the event, seven under par 64, to be four strokes off the lead.

A third round 70 dropped him to tied 10th and a final 72 for a total of 275, nine under par, left him tied 14th.

The winner was tour rookie American Chez Reavies with rounds of 65, 64, 68, 70 for 267, 17 under par.

Davis has made the halfway cut 14 times in 22 tournaments, with winnings of $638,000 for 107th place on the money list.
