The Welwyn Garden City-based squash professional is competing in the Al Ahram Squash Open in Egypt, where a glass court and stands have been constructed at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

It is the first time in 10 years a tournament has been played there.

Waters, the World number nine, was in control as she downed compatriot Victoria Lust 3-1 in the first round.

Her victory has set up a last eight meeting with Egypt’s Nour El Tayeb - the wildcard who stunned in-form World No.5 Nouran Gohar.
