BOWLERS from Potters Bar BC suffered a slender one-shot defeat over the weekend. Potters Bar hosted the Winchmore club on Sunday and the visitors made it a memorable battle when they secured the win by one shot. They triumphed 78-77 after taking the rink

BOWLERS from Potters Bar BC suffered a slender one-shot defeat over the weekend.

Potters Bar hosted the Winchmore club on Sunday and the visitors made it a memorable battle when they secured the win by one shot.

They triumphed 78-77 after taking the rink score 3-1.

The winning rink for Potters Bar was Bill Massey, Bob Whittle, Melville Pereira, Peter Gower with a 23-15 result.

Eric Marriner, Arthur Harris, Alan Dick and captain Ken Huntley lost 15-14, while Jan Southwell, Douglas Riley, Derek Goodwin and Richard Winn were beaten 24-20.

The most surprising result was the rink of Harry White, Bill Burrows, Edgar Vaughan and Brian Burfoot.

Having scored a hot shot '8', they lost on the rink by 24 shots to 20.
