Skinner third in Bath race

GARDEN City Runner Kevin Skinner was the first male Brit home in the Bath Half Marathon at the weekend and set a new personal best. In spite of the start being delayed for an hour due to wet and windy conditions, the second claim GCR competitor ran well.

Skinner finished the event in third place with a time of 1 hour 6 minutes and 35 seconds.
He was a minute and 14 seconds behind the first man across the finish line of the largely flat course which straddles the River Avon.
Overall winner of the race was Kenyan Raymond Tonui in 1 hr 05 mins 21 secs.
Ethiopian athlete Ayele Mergessa was runner up 24 seconds behind Tonui with 1 hr 05 mins 45 secs.
