SHIRE Park Bowls Club have made it through to the final of the Jones Cup.

The Tewin-based side beat Potters Bar by a shot to give themselves a chance of some silverware.

The following day the two sides met again.

Shire Park won a mixed game 117-115 with their top rink being that of Linda Baker, Tina Nickolls, Sam Baker and president Gordon Price with a 29-7 victory.

Barnet visited the School Lane club and were defeated 84-66.

For the hosts captain Vera James, John Knight, Joan Pinnell and Reg Driscol had the top rink, winning at 24-8.

Shire Park lost by 29 shots at home to Royston.

The four mixed rink game saw the visitors grab a 110-81 victory.

For Park their top rink was that of Irene Driscol, John Hazelwood, Laura Hastings and Mick Wood.

Bowlers from Shire Park came out on top by one point in the County League against Harpenden.

Playing one rink at home and one away, the Tewin club just edged to victory by 50-49.
