RUGBY players were given once-in-a-lifetime VIP hospitality tickets to a Guinness Premiership match.

Members of Welwyn Rugby FC's fifth team met some of the stars of the game after Saracens' victory over London Wasps at Vicarage Road, Watford.

The amateurs were on the day out after the Hobbs Way side came second in a Guinness competition.

Nigel Parker, mini and junior chairman at the club, said: "We then raffled them off to raise cash for the mini junior and ladies team.

"A member of the fifth squad won the hospitality tickets and he took his team pals."

Martin Gade, a squad member, told the WHT it was a "fantastic experience".

He said: "We as a side really appreciated it, because even though we take the game quite seriously, we really enjoy the social side of things.

"I am a regular at the Saracens so it was great to actually have hospitality seats rather than sitting in the cold of the stadium down below.

"What was particularly good was meeting the whole Saracens team after the game; they were brilliant and signed a shirt as well.
