WELWYN were beaten 12-0 away to derby rivals St Albans on Saturday, with the hosts claiming all their points from penalties.

Welwyn renewed their acquaintance with local rivals St Albans in this the second game of their campaign in the London Three North West league.

Without captain Peter Elliott, absent due to a knee injury, and other absentees due to other early season injuries and unavailabilities Welwyn’s side had the shape and aspiration to make a real match of this derby.

It proved, however, a step to far, as St Albans made their penalties count to triumph in the all-Herts encounter.
