WELWYN RFC's Under-15s won the Bowl competition at the Herts Girls' Rugby 7's at Tabard RFC.
The Herts 7's is now one of the major tournaments on the girls' rugby circuit and some teams travel hundreds of miles to take part.
The pitches at Tabard's Radlett home were very hard and at one point the Welwyn camp resembled a scene from an emergency ward with various players in bandages and holding ice packs to injuries.
By the knockout stages of the Bowl, Welwyn were missing captain Courtney Arberry and key sprinters Lotte Clapp and Georgia Peedle.
However, the remainder of squad rose to the challenge and beat Old Albanians 48-7 and Tamworth 39-20 to lift the Bowl.
Becky Dawson, Sam Voyle and Abi Lee were the main scorers, and 12-year-old Bryony Pomfret capped an excellent debut with a brace of tries.
This was the third year in a row that the younger Welwyn girls have won a trophy in their home tournament, having won the Cup in 2006 and Plate in 2007.
