WELWYN'S wonderfully talented Under-8 rugby squad showcased their skills at the Hertfordshire County TAG festival at Tring RFC.

In an enthralling day, they managed not only to be crowned County Cup champions for the second successive season, but also ran off with the County Bowl.

Four teams were entered into three different competitions, the A team in the County Cup, the B team in the County Plate and the C squad split into two teams, one entering the Plate competition and one forming the D side in the Bowl tournament.

Well done to all the children who represented Welwyn on the day.

Their effort and sportsmanship did the Hobbs Way club proud, and as well as learning some key skills in the game of rugby, it is hoped that their enthusiasm will continue to develop in the sport.
