TITLE-chasing Hatfield Comets Under-13s brushed aside Aylesbury Knights.

The newly-formed junior side of St Albans Centurions thrashed the Knights 48-4 in the Chiltern Junior Rugby League.

Coach Shane Rampling said: "This game was one of the best team efforts I have seen from the Comets.

"The passing and the support play was top notch, and the players were running onto the ball like pros.

"The boys are really looking like a 'team' now, backing each other up and putting loads of effort in.

"Big well done to Josh, Lewis, Judd and Tyler, but at the end of the day, all the players in the squad did well.

"They are all playing like a team now."

The boys from Hatfield dominated the game from the kick-off.

Considering both sides were only formed in 2007, the Comets were head and shoulders above their hosts from Buckinghamshire.

Leading 28-0 at half-time, Comets controlled the second half as easily as they did the first with passing movements involving six or seven players not uncommon. The Hatfield side ran out easy 48-4 winners.
