Jamie George injury rules him out of England’s triple crown clash and rest of Six Nations

England rugby coach Eddie Jones has wished Jamie George well after he was ruled out of the rest of the Six Nations Championships through injury.

The Welwyn Garden City-born Saracens hooker had been capped in all three of England’s Six Nations victories over Scotland, Italy and Ireland, but has this week withdrawn from the squad due to a ruptured a tendon in his bicep suffered in training.

His misfortune hands a chance in the squad to Exeter Chiefs’ Luke Cowan-Dickie.

Jones said: “It is a shame that Jamie George misses out through injury and we wish him well in his recovery, but it provides a great opportunity for Luke Cowan-Dickie to show what he’s about.”

England face Wales on Saturday at Twickenham looking to secure the triple crown.
