WELWYN defeated Westcliff 15-13 on Saturday to ensure a home and away double against their Essex rivals.

It was the Hobbs Way side's second win in the league this season, adding to the 19-12 success away at the same team in October.

Tries came from Wayne Child, Scott Clewlow and Gareth Hughes.

Following head coach Andy Riley's positive outlook of the future at Hobbs Way, the victory will back-up that idea that the club is ever-improving.

And welcome returns to action for Rob Picken, Kyle and Kris Birkin and Dave Orton will hopefully galvanise the side into winning some more games come the end of the London 2 North campaign.

Come back later for a full report on Welwyn's superb victory.
