Philip Grehan claimed a fantastic five-try haul as Welwyn continued a successful start to the London 3NW season with a tense 33-28 home win over Fullerians.

Welwyn led 21-15 at half-time with a hat-trick of tries for Grehan, which were converted by David Wells.

After the break Fullerians fought back and took a 25-21 lead only for Grehan to go over the whitewash for a fourth time making it 26-25 to Welwyn.

A penalty to the away side saw them edge 28-26 infront with five minutes to go.

Man of the match Grehan was not to be on the losing side as he intercepted a stray Fullerians pass in his own half and galloped away to touch down a fifth try which was converted to give his side victory.
