Datchworth ensured they secured some early season bragging rights as they secured a 34-15 victory at home to Welwyn on Saturday.

On a gloomy and damp day, Datchworth reacted much better to the difficult playing conditions and their experienced and well-organised forwards proved too strong for the visitors in the London Three North West clash.

Welwyn’s scrummage struggled, particularly in the second half and the line-out was also a problem area which will need to be addressed.

Welwyn have work to do this week before the visit on Saturday of Belsize Park, who are already looking like the side to beat in this league.

Meanwhile Datchworth travel to Hackney in buoyant spirits and they will be looking for a repeat performance.
