HATFIELD Comets Under-13s' five game unbeaten run came to an end against Adeyfield Dragons.
They went down 32-20 in the Chiltern Junior Rugby League match with the Dragons.
It was obvious the Comets were missing several key players.
They took a while to settle down in the first period as the Dragons ran up the majority of their points.
The Comets looked more like their old selves in the second period, running in some great tries.
However, it proved too little too late for the Hatfield boys.
Comets' U15s also lost to their Dragons counterparts. The Hatfield side were comprehensively beaten by 42-6.
The Comets found that they were two men short due to illness before the start of the game.
Although they were offered two players from the Dragons' reserves, they refused the aid.
The players said no matter how many of them there was, they were a team and they would stick together and play as a team without outside help.
Unfortunately during the course of the game, the extra two men from Hemel made all the difference against the Hatfield side.
Despite being two men short, the Comets' 11 men played very well.
The Dragons' full compliment of 13 always had the easier time of it because of this difference.
At the end of the match there were some very cold and tired young men on the field, but they still did themselves proud.
