DATCHWORTH were whacked 60-12 by Imperial Medicals in their penultimate game of the league campaign at the weekend.

Despite Datchworth starting the more dominant, Imperial Medics soaked up the initial assault and went on the offensive themselves.

The villagers kept within touching distance of the opposition at half-time, having scored a couple of tries through Mark Holgate and Alan Cartmell.

After the break the London side's fitness and execution made a massive difference. Bit by bit the Medics' lead grew and there was no way back for the villagers.

In their final game relegated Datchworth take on bottom of the league Vauxhall Motors.
