Pupils in Year 7 and Year 8 from Monk’s Walk School continued their first season of school rugby by hosting their John Warner counterparts at Knightsfield.
Under the guidance of Chris Poole, working in partnership with local rugby clubs, the school started an extra-curricular rugby club in September 2016 to promote health and fitness for boys and girls through rugby.
On the evening, the Year 8s lost their match, but have a competitive team forming and expect to be challenging soon, while the Year 7s won their game by six tries to five.
Welwyn RFC has secured funding for use in running rugby activities for local young people in the Welwyn Hatfield area.
