Home Counties Premier League Division Two (East)

North Mymms 217-4 Bishop's Stortford 62-0 - match abandoned

A CENTURY from Indian overseas star Harshad Rawle proved fruitless as North Mymms' match against Bishop's Stortford was rained off.

Rawle smashed 101 not out in the Home Counties Premier League Division Two East fixture.

However, the only winner of the day was the weather, halting Stortford's reply at 62-0 after just 12 overs.

Herts county captain Andy Lewis came in for Mymms at three and he made a good knock of 61 off only 60 balls to put the Home Farm club in the driving seat.

Yet the big-hitter of the day was Rawle, the Mumbai-born right-hander hitting a magnificent 101 runs from only 73 runs.

Rawle's knock included 11 fours and five sixes as the home side posted a good score of 217-9 from their 42 overs.

However, prior to the washout, Stortford were looking solid, with captain David Hughes making 29 not out.

His fellow opener Matt Surry was on 26 before the match was abandoned with only 12 overs completed.

Both sides will be dismayed at taking just six points from the game which could have gone either way.
