The pair have taken over the reins at the Pakex following the departure of James Duncan for Chesham United.

O’Leary, a former Hendon and Kingstonian player, has been skipper of the side for the past year and was instrumental in the Scholars’ promotion campaign last season.

It is his first venture into management but he will also continue as a player.

Cousins also counts Hendon as a former club as well as St Albans City, and is also England’s record appearance holder in the six-a-side version of the game.

He has been helping out with the coaching for the last two weeks.

Scholars’ chairman Peter Waller said: “I am pleased and delighted with the appointment and look forward to maintaining the continued progression the club have enjoyed over a period of time.”

Director of football Steve Ringrose, who will continue as the link between the team and the board, also welcomed the appointment praising the job the guys had done with the team after taking over as caretakers.
