POTTERS Bar Town claimed their biggest Ryman League win of the season with a 4-0 home triumph over near neighbours Ware on Tuesday night.

Two goals in each half saw the Scholars take the points in an entertaining game.

In the end the slick passing and sheer pace of Adam Lee’s men proved too much for a Ware side lacking some of their usual strength.

Bar provided the first threat on goal with a Luke Croll free-kick being headed just over by Tom Pett as early as the second minute.

Nine minutes later the same player finished a stunning flowing passing move involving nine passes culminating in Chris Doyle putting in Jake Parratt to provide the final ball for Pett to finish.

It was a goal worth the entrance money on its own.

With Bar producing almost all of the attacking play for the rest of the first half it was only a matter of time before the lead was doubled.

Elvis Balic netting for the third time in the last three games following a powerful run and driven shot by Jake Parratt. Balic nipped in to slot the ball under the unfortunate Obey Murefu in the Ware goal.

Two-up, the Scholars started the second half slowly and were almost caught by a John Megicks free kick which flew over the top.

But, within 10 minutes of the re-start, the game was effectively sealed as half-time sub Jose Espinosa provided the finish to another fine move involving the influential Doyle and the irrepresible Parratt.

At this stage it looked as though Ware were finished but they continued to try and play as some slack defending gave chances to Megicks and Michael Toner.

But any thoughts of a revival were killed off as Parratt outpaced The Blue’s centre-back Matt Turpin to score his fifth of the season and give the Scholars their biggest win of the term.
