Potters Bar Hockey Club have made a number of slow starts away from home this season but perhaps none slower than their effort at Blueharts 2nds as they shipped three goals in the first 15 minutes on their way to a 5-1 defeat.

They had travelled to Hitchin with plenty of confidence having risen to third in the East League Division Two South table on the back on a six-game unbeaten streak.
But their search for the first away win of the season was over before it started with that damaging spell from the hosts.
They had given themselves a chance in that period when Mark Turpin was credited with a deflected goal but Blueharts added two more for a healthy half-time lead.
The hope at the break was a fast start wouldget Bar back into the game and they had their best period of the game in the next 20 minutes.

But they failed to get shots in during that spell and the hosts wrapped things up late on with a fifth.
