POTTERS Bar Fillies kept up their challenge for the league leadership with a six-wicket win over Underhill Ladies.

The Fillies won the toss and chose to field in the home tie at The Walk.

The Barnet openers put on a very spirited start of 49 before a run out from the bowling of Charlotte Sayers removed their opening bat for 13.

Tracey Sayers made the next breakthrough, bowling the Barnet number three before Nicky Shambles had the second Barnet opener splendidly caught in close by Tracey Sayers for 30.

Lorett Bredenkamp took the fourth wicket with the score on 74.

With 80 runs required to win, Debbie Palmer scored four from her first ball.

However, this bright start ended four balls later when she was bowled without adding to her score.

The ship was steadied somewhat with a second wicket partnership of 38 from Hannah Sayers and Di Merrill before Sayers fell bowled for 18.

With Di going on to make a stylish 17, the target was reached with almost four overs to spare.

The Fillies next feature in their friendly tournament at The Walk on Bank Holiday Monday at 10am.
