The ESFA Potters Bar Primary Schools District Football teams had a very important Saturday at the weekend with two National Finals.
The U11 boys travelled to Derby County looking to win their sixth trophy of the season in the Premier League National Finals.
Manager Dean Barker said: “This was the first time we had reached the Premier League National Finals so it was a huge honour to be involved on the day.
“The squad were absolutely brilliant remaining unbeaten against Darlington, South Birmingham, Torbay and beating tournament favourites Liverpool in the semi-final.
“We then beat close neighbours St Albans in the final to be crowned ‘the best team in England’.
“It was a special moment for all the children involved.”
The Potters Bar squad was Finlay Herrick, Albert Wood, Jokubas Mazionis, Freddie Davies, Antonio Jackson-Ruiz, David Hicks, Riley Warmerdam, Callum Howell, Rahim Kakigali, Kameron Lall, Adnan Lembariti and Harrison Hubert.
The U12 boys were also in action, travelling to St George’s Park in Burton, to take part in the RIBI National Rotary Club Finals.
Barker said: “The squad were representing the Brookmans Park Rotary Club on the day and remained unbeaten throughout to win the national title for the third time in four years.
“A special thanks to Barbara Middleton who helped with the organising of the event and the squad were delighted to be crowned champions on the day.”
The U12 squad was Ted Gibbs, Max Pitman, Freddie Stanley, Liam Hummel, Matty Roberts, Harry Titchmarsh, Stanley Young and Elian Quesada-Thorn.
