Potters Bar Bowls Club open their season with annual charity game

Over 70 members joined new Potters Bar Bowls Club president Sue Thurlow as the season officially got underway with the annual president’s game.

And played over 18 ends, the president’s side just edged out the captain’s side before enjoying a buffet prepared by the catering team.

The day was also a chance to support the president’s charity for the year, Headway Hertfordshire, which they did by donating raffle prizes and buying tickets, all of which helped raise over £300.

Thurlow thanked all members for supporting her day, and made presentations to the, the green keepers, catering team, bar staff as well as the winning teams.

The club are also holding two open days where people will have the opportunity to try the game.

The first is this Saturday with the second on Sunday, May 6, both starting at 10am.
