Mary Steed, Pam Barker and Janet O'Hagan won the Yardley Cup at Potters Bar Bowls Club.
Older and new members played on a very enjoyable and competitive afternoon of bowling, as 10 teams of three battled it out for honours.
Potters Bar bowed out of the National Top Club competition, though, after a close match with St Albans.
They had the higher number of shots over the singles, pairs, triples and fours, but St Albans won on two rinks, with one other drawn.
A squad of 23 players and 10 supporters travelled by coach to play a match against Island Bohemian Cup, on Fry's Island on the River Thames near Reading on Sunday.
The match was arranged by fixture secretary Steve Jewell, who took on the role of captain for the day.
And having been ferried across in a small boat driven by members of the Island club, Potters Bar were edged out 100-96, with Peter Openshaw, Mike Teale, Keith Lucas and skip David Salmon their top rink.
