POTTERS Bar bowlers are celebrating winning the Maurice Watson Trophy for the first time.

First played for in 1998, Potters Bar men's rink of Peter Gower, Brian Thurgood, Keith Ades and skip Roy Tansey won 32-9 against the Batchwood Bowls Club rink.

A total of 12 teams entered this St Albans & District Bowls Association annual tournament and it was the first win by the local club.
