HALF marathon runner Laurence Pidcock again ran inside the magical 80-minute barrier for GCR as he claimed another personal best.
Shelter from the wind was in short supply at the Watford Half Marathon, as bitter easterly gales did their best to blow runners off course.
But that didn't prevent Pidcock from a cracking performance.
After scraping inside the 80 minute mark in Bedfordshire during November, he got comfortably under it again.
This time he clocked and even quicker time with 1 hour 18 mins 19 secs for 28th place and was not far behind Herts Phoenix's Paul Greaves.
The Tri-Force Herts triathlete said he felt fast and strong and that 1 hour 18 mins would be within his sights in future competitions.
The Watford event is a popular one in the calendar for runners all over the south east who use it as a build-up for Spring marathons.
More than 2,000 competitors took part and the Colosseum struggled to accommodate all of those chasing baggage space and toilets.
Now the course has lost the climb of Deadman's Ash Hill near Sarratt it is faster, but it is still up and down for most of the way, and the start and finish in Cassiobury Park make it a classic.
Other GCR finishers included: Sean Bowen 1:23:48; Markus Allen 1:27:56; Patrick Gallagher 1:28:05; Caroline Hale 1:32:29; Nick Davis 1:34:43; Richard Hung 1:34:44; Veronica Shadbolt 1:36:24; Callum Donald 1:36:38; Angela Hodson 1:46:15; Celia Pardoe 1:48:07 - still smiling after her second hard race of the weekend; Peter Sawko 1:48:33; Gilly Holdsworth 1:50:51 - a personal best despite her timing chip failing to record the true time which could have been half a minute quicker; Saranna Watkins 1:51:42; Vickie Le Masurier 2:00:46; Kerry Henderson 2:01:18; Adrian Dudley 2:05:45; Clare Dudley 2:08:04; Maureen Steed 2:11:44 and Carol Sherriff 2:16:21.
