Personal bests tumble for Garden City Runners

Garden City Runners' Katy Healy set a new personal best at the York Marathon.


Personal bests were the order of the day this weekend as a total of 14 Garden City Runners’ athletes went faster than ever.

The PBs came in a series of events, from parkruns right up to marathon.

One of the furthest travellers was Sean Taylor who took a staggering 12 minutes off his best at the Zagreb Half Marathon, finishing in one hour 50 minutes 34 seconds.

Closer to home Katy Healy and Alex Yates were celebrating at the York Marathon with times of 3:42:31 and 4:20:41 respectively.

Eleven PBs were set at various parkruns including Heartwood Forest, Panshanger and Ellenbrook Fields.

Sean Bowen produced a fine run at the Bournemouth Marathon to finish 11th in 2:56:46, the same position earned by Neil Hume in the half marathon distance at the Great Eastern Run.

He clocked 1:13:30.
