Parkside Bowls Club invite the public to ‘give bowls a go’

Parkside Bowls Club are inviting members of the public to give bowls a go.

The club, based at King George V Playing Fields, Beehive Lane, WGC, are holding a free open weekend on Saturday and Sunday where you can meet members who will teach you the rudiments of the game.

The bowls themselves will be available with flat-soled shoes the only requirement. There will be refreshments available too..

The club began their year with a honourable draw with De Havilland in a match curtailed by bad weather.

However, Parkside’s East Herts team got off to a flying start with a six-point victory over Stevenage Whites.

Two rinks had victories, Colin Jones, Malcolm Cragg and Billy Draycott winning 16-11 and Alan Croshaw, Mick Looney and Les Shepherd 18-9.
