THE Jekyll and Hyde displays of Knebworth Park's 2nd XI continued on Saturday.

After their glorious win of the previous week, they crashed to their second defeat of the season against lowly Northwood Town.

Chasing Northwood's 174 total, Knebworth slumped to 65 all out in reply.

The Park won the toss and elected to bowl first in the Herts League Division Two clash, hoping to make the most of favourable bowling conditions.

Young pace bowler Michael Fisher was unlucky not to take an early wicket as an edge was fumbled and eventually dropped in the slip cordon.

Fellow opener Jack Thorn struggled with the conditions and gave Northwood little trouble.

Skipper Shaun Robinson and old hand Graham Fisher each bowled a marathon spell, and restricted Northwood to 33 off the first 22 overs.

A few missed chances turned the game in favour of the away team, who surged on to make a very competitive 174 from their 53 overs.

The Park started their run chase positively, with Richmond taking the attack to the opening bowlers.

However, he was bowled in the fifth over, triggering a collapse of the top and middle order.

Colin Letford provided the only real resistance as he struggled to 24.

The lower order stuck around in the hope of the draw, but some poor shot selection eventually cost both Jones and Thorn, leaving the Park with three wickets in hand and more than 20 overs to bat out.

The task proved too great and the Knebworth side were eventually bowled out for a paltry 65.
