ORCHARD Tennis Club will be hosting a family fun day this Saturday with activities promised for all.

A fun-filled afternoon of free tennis and coaching for all ages and abilities is in store at the club on Blakemere Road.

Players will be able to use the superb synthetic grass courts on a day which is designed to offer something for everyone.

On the tennis front, Ian Pottinger will be providing coaching.

There will be separate sessions for juniors and adults of all ages and abilities.

Anyone will be welcome on court and rackets can be provided if needed, although players will need to take their own sports shoes.

On the fun side, there will be the opportunity to test the speed of your service at just £1 for six serves.

There will also be racket testing equipment, rackets to demo, ball machines and much more.

For those who are not on court, there will be plenty of alternative entertainment.

The usual array of fete-like activities, including a bouncy castle, face painting, various sideshows and stalls will be there.

If you get a bit hungry or fancy a drink on the day, there will be a barbecue, beer tent and refreshments.

In what was a fantastic afternoon last summer, it is hoped this year's fun day will once again be a smashing success.

The day is planned to help show what Orchard has to offer and encourage people to join the friendly WGC tennis club.

Plenty of information and literature will be available at the membership tent.

Anyone joining on the day, or prior to April 30, will be entitled to a membership fee discount of 20 per cent.

The day starts on Saturday at 12 noon and will go on until around 4pm.
