HATFIELD'S Onslow St Audrey's School netball team will hope to be flying high in the league after receiving a new kit sponsored by the Royal Air Force.

The RAF is running a nationwide sports kit sponsorship scheme in conjunction with schools, colleges and other youth organisations.

Following a number of visits to the Old Rectory Drive school, the RAF's area career liaison officer, flight sergeant Mark Smith, nominated Onslow St Audrey's to benefit from the initiative.

He said: "This scheme gives the RAF the chance to let youngsters know how important sport plays in a military life.

"It brings out important factors such as communication, discipline, fitness and teamwork, all vital in our daily lives."

Charlotte Matthews, director of health and sport at the school, said she was delighted to receive the new kit for the girls.

She added: "They were over the moon and cannot wait until September for the netball season to start.
