WELWYN Garden City-born Harry Toffolo made his England U18s bow in the 1-0 defeat away in Belgium on Tuesday night.

The 17-year-old defender wore the number three shirt and played the first half of the friendly at the Tivoli Stadium, La Louvière.

Belgium grabbed the only goal of the game in the 69th minute through Gilles Sallaets.

The hosts’ goal came after England coach Noel Blake had made wholesale substitutions to give all squad members a run-out.

Toffolo plays for Premier League side Norwich City’s U21 team. He formerly played for Welwyn Pegasus and trained at the University of Hertfordshire Football Development Centre.
