North Mymms Bowls Club retained the Nethercott Cup by defeating Borehamwood 80-75 on Saturday.

Their top winning rink was made up of David Slade, Terry Atkinson, Derick Hall and skip Diann Howell.

That cup victory followed a 88-62 victory at Welwyn and District last Thursday.

Mymms won three out of the four rinks. The highlight of the day was a hotshot with eight shots, achieved by Andy Beattie, Geoff Matthews, Terry Atkinson and skip Bill Baker.

Mymms were beaten 42-18 at home to Oakhill in the County League.

They lost on one rink and won on the other, but were beaten overall, taking just two points out of a possible six. Top rink was Ray Jones, Martin Barson, David Marlborough and skip John Penfold.

In the Friday Night Triples. both Mymms’ home and away teams secured victory by 14-13, taking maximum points.

Townsend hosted Mymms in a reduced three rink in the St Albans and District League.

The visitors came away with a maximum 80 points by winning all rinks and overall 58-47.
