MAVERICKS' Co-operative Netball Superleague squad has a new major sponsor.

The Hatfield-based club has teamed up with the galleria shopping outlet centre.

"We are delighted to be able to support such a talented team as the Mavericks," said Deborah Owen-Ellis Clark, marketing director for Land Securities retail outlets.

"This is an exciting development for the centre, reinforcing our commitment to the local community as well as perfectly reflecting the galleria brand and its customers."

Mavericks chair Gloria Keech said: "This partnership with the galleria is a great opportunity for netball and we are particularly excited about the opportunities that it affords in raising the profile of the Co-operative Superleague Netball within the local community, as well as across the rest of the east region."

As the main sponsor, the shopping centre's branding will appear on the team kit, home court and perimeter boards, match programmes and all squad literature.

Mavericks is the Netball Superleague franchise based in the East Region and was established in 2005.

Over the past two seasons Mavericks have finished runners-up in the league.

This season's squad includes a number of internationals, such as team captain Naomi Siddall and Mavericks vice-captain and England skipper Amanda Newton. Mavericks, who train and play their home matches at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield, also boast England vice-captain Karen Atkinson and England shooter Louisa Brownfield.

There are also a host of young England Talent players throughout both squads.
