NORTH Mymms BC's lady bowlers were in action twice midweek but continued the trend of claiming as many rinks as their opponents but not building a high enough shots aggregate to win overall.

They lost 40-28 away to Sele Farm with Diann Howell, Ann Penfold, Shirley Brooker and Rose Parkinson taking their rink 22-21.

Entertaining Welwyn & District, the losing margin was just five shots with captain Diann Howell yet again skip of the most successful rink.

This time she joined forces with Jill Hefford, Pam Jones and Joyce Welch to record a 24-20 victory.

The men also took on the Welwyn club in a District League fixture, claiming 50 points with victories on two rinks and the match by 99 shots to 69.

Top rink was Geoff Matthews, Peter Kenyon, Ray Jones and Dave Marlborough with a massive 42 shots to 10 triumph.

John Penfold, Jim Greenwood, Alan Barth and Geoff Moorhouse also won 28-10.
