Pupils from Monk’s Walk School took in the excitement of a day of top-class basketball at the British Basketball League’s finals day held at the O2.

The main event was the play-off final between Leicester Riders and Sheffield Sharks.

Prior to that showcase game, they also got to see Nottingham Wildcats against Sevenoaks Suns in the Women’s final.

There was also a Hoops Aid wheelchair basketball game, featuring Ade Adepitan, and a mixed Hoops Aid match involving a number of celebrities.

One of the pupils said: “I found it a great opportunity to be there with my friends and teachers. The games were fast and exciting and it was an amazing experience.

“I’m looking forward to the start of the basketball season next year as I am full of confidence to see what I could potentially aim to strive for.

“Thank you to Mrs Bennet, Miss Poole, Mrs Sullivan and Miss Steadman for organising the trip.”
