Welwyn & Hatfield Volleyball Club’s ladies enjoyed a mixed bag of results as their two teams hit the road.

The Wildcats were able to pick up a fine win away to Kings Langley in the HVA League.

However, a good warm-up at Rudolf Steiner School set them up perfectly and they roared out the blocks, taking the first set 25-11.

The second set was even better and with player of the match Agata Gikuma serving they barely gave the Warriors a look-in, winning 25-3.

Kings Langley did respond but it wasn’t enough and the Wildcats closed the game out 25-20 for a straight-sets win.

The result keeps Warriors in second place in the table, two points behind Red Eagles of Luton who picked up a 3-1 win over Welwyn & Hatfield’s other team, the Queen Bees.

The Eagles took the first two sets in relative comfort but the Queen Bees upped their game in the third to pull one set back.

However, the Eagles pulled away in the next set to win 25-14 25-5 25-27 25-19.
