benecosMavericks head coach Kat Ratnapala has called on her side to “dig deep” as they approach the final stretch in the Vitality Netball Superleague season.

Mavericks made the trip west to fellow play-off chasers Team Bath but left with a 54-45 loss, a result that has dropped the Hertfordshire side out of the vital top four places.

Ratnapala said: “Bath were extremely clinical and patient tonight, there was opportunities for us to win more ball but we just didn’t take them.

“A massive shout out to Karyn Bailey who had 100 per cent shooting stats tonight and Kalifa McCollin for missing just two goals; we just needed to present them more ball as we aren’t getting enough shooting opportunities.

“There are four games left and despite it being a tough end, it’s all to play for. We’ve Thunder on Saturday at HSV then Lightning at Colchester and Wasps and Sirens away.

“We need to dig deep and have a strong finish to the season.”
