Four Herts Mavericks players featured for England as they claimed a 3-0 series whitewash over Trinidad and Tobago over the past week.

International regulars sisters Kadeen and Sasha Corbin were joined by Layla Guscoth and Lindsay Keable from the Hatfield-based Mavericks in wearing the red of England.

The four, in action for the first time since the Mavericks’ Superleague play-off final loss to Surrey Storm, all played their part in helping newly appointed head coach Tracey Neville secure her first victories since taking charge.

The quartet will have done themselves no harm at all in bidding for a place in Neville’s Netball World Cup squad that will travel to the competition in Australia in August.

England claimed 65-42, 67-42 and 69-36 triumphs over their opponents from the Carribean in matches played at the University of Bath, the Copper Box Arena in London and the Echo Arena in Liverpool respectively.

Next up for England is a trip to Belfast for Netball Europe later this week.

The squad for this tournament sees a couple of new faces come in as Neville continues to look at players ahead of naming her final 12 next month that will go on to compete in Australia. The World Cup starts on August 7.
