FOLLOWING the departure of Richard May who has decided to pursue a career outside golf, WGC Golf Club has appointed Stuart Mason as its professional.

Stuart who took up his new post last week was formerly head teaching professional at Berkhamsted Golf Club.

The 31-year-old is the Hertfordshire county junior girls coach and in addition to providing the full range of professional services to the membership and visitors, is keen to promote the coaching of young newcomers to the game.

Captain Keith Travers said: “We are very pleased to have been able to attract a professional of Stuart’s proven ability and experience and look forward to a long and successful association with him.”

Stuart added: “I’m really looking forward to the challenge at WGC Golf Club.”

“It is a great honour to be appointed to such a prestigious club.

“My many plans for the future include a complete refurbishment of the professional’s shop, and providing a comprehensive range of coaching courses including beginners and junior group lessons.”

Stuart has started to take applications for places on his Junior Coaching Course.
