FORMULA One racer Lewis Hamilton will be going round the bend in the opposite way to normal this weekend.

Most F1 circuits are clockwise, but the Istanbul Speed Park, the venue for Sunday's Turkish Grand Prix, is one of few tracks on the calendar that is raced in the other direction.

This presents problems for Hamilton and his fellow drivers in that they need to strengthen neck muscles that they don't normally use.

"The majority of the tracks we race at during the year are clockwise, so it is inevitable that the right side of your neck gets stronger," said Tewin hero Hamilton.

"As a result, you do need to prepare the left side of your neck a little bit more to make sure that it doesn't weaken over the course of the race weekend.

"I have spent some time doing this with my trainer since Spain, so it shouldn't be a problem."

The main impact on the Bridgestone Potenza tyres will come at turn eight, a testing triple-apex corner.

Hamilton said: "On the tyres, the issue is more turn eight.

"This is where tyres can suffer on the track and you have to be careful to ensure you don't scrub them.
