SRI Lankan star Lanka de Silva smashed his first century of the season for Potters Bar on Saturday.

The former Test wicketkeeper-batsman cracked an unbeaten 108 for The Walk club as they piled on a massive 303-5 at Bishop's Stortford's aptly named Cricketfield Lane ground in just 53 overs.

De Silva wasn't the only Bar player to enjoy the conditions with ex-Leicestershire man Nick Walker also showing his ability with the bat with a blistering 58 which included one massive six that carried in excess of 110 metres.

It was then the turn of veteran spinner Paul McGee to continue his superb season with the ball.

McGee rolled back the years with 6-69 as Stortford were stumped for 275 in reply to give Len Cooper's men their seventh Home Counties Premier League Division Two (East) success of the summer.

Potters Bar also won on Sunday against Saffron Walden in the Evening Standard Trophy.

Nesan Jeyaratnam hit 106 not out to take his side through to the last 16 of the competition.
